What it takes to run ICAM each August
ICAM doesn’t have a large paid staff — it runs on a small set of recurring roles, filled by volunteers and advisors who rotate and grow year to year. Here’s what each one covers.
Program Coordination
Sets the year’s campaign theme, plans the weekly content calendar, and keeps the month-long schedule of events, posts, and resources on track.
Content & Research
Verifies citations and sources behind the site’s myths, facts, and weekly articles, and keeps the content grounded in current research on coercive control.
Community & Partnerships
Maintains relationships with allied organizations, vets resources before they’re listed on this site, and represents ICAM in cross-organization work.
Communications
Runs the campaign’s social channels and public-facing messaging, and turns each week’s content into shareable posts.
Volunteer Coordination
Recruits and schedules the volunteers who staff webinars, workshops, and support groups throughout August.
Advisory & Survivor Input
Survivors and clinicians who review content for accuracy and tone before it’s published, informed by lived experience and clinical practice.
